Talus - Fun Fact

The Talus is a bone in the foot at the ankle joint.  It is the only axial bone in the body to not be attached to muscle.  It only has ligament attachments which means it only articulates with other bones.

Connected to these five bones by different ligaments:
Tibia
medial malleolus
lateral malleolus
calcaneus
navicular

  1. I didn't know the talus was the only one not attached to any muscles. I think the talus is probably one of the more interesting bones in the foot especially when palpating it. Its really cool how you can feel it sort of pop out as you move the foot from dorsal flexion to plantar flexion. Thats good that you already know so much about the foot I bet you are going to do really awesome on the evaluation on monday
